The battlelog website has been launched by EA games. It's a great source of information on what's going on in the battlefield series, and how to get better results from playing the game. The site offers player stats, maps, clan profiles, and much more. It also includes a few highly recommended patches for Battlefield 2 which improves gameplay quality and performance significantly. You can check them out for yourself here: https://battlelog.battlefield. com/bf2/forum/threadview/2985463545801403742/ Here is a list of all Battlefield 2 patches by Electronic Arts: The first Battlefield 2 patch was released on November 15, 2005. It contained numerous fixes for crashes related to specific hardware configurations, physics engine problems, and gameplay tweaks. It also introduced the new Punkbuster Anti-Cheat System that players are required to use to play online. The second patch was released on December 8, 2005. It had fewer fixes than the previous patch but had the same requirements of being Punkbuster enabled for online play. The files were approximately 1 MB smaller than the first patch, due to some unnecessary files being removed from it. The third patch was released on March 17, 2006. It added support for the Windows Vista operating system and removed some Punkbuster files that were no longer needed. Players who had Punkbuster version 1 would have to uninstall it before installing this patch because Punkbuster 1 was not Vista compatible. Two patches were released on March 30, 2006, one for North America and one for Europe. These patches were the last official patches by Electronic Arts to fix any bugs in the game. The North American patch was 469 MB in size while the European patch was 767 MB in size due to different language files being present in each of them. On July 5, 2006 cheating became a serious problem for the online gaming community. This is when several programs were created to give players an unfair advantage in Battlefield 2 . A crack for one of these programs was found on the internet which enabled the program to be used with Punkbuster, which is what it checks for. Because of this security breach, Electronic Arts released a statement saying that they would not release any more patches until a new client was released with Punkbuster 3.0 inside of it. Electronic Arts stated that if they didn't release a new client then hackers would still find ways to cheat because Punkbuster 1 and 2 lacked several security features that are needed to keep cheaters out of the game. A beta client was released on August 29, 2006. However because of technical difficulties with Punkbuster, it was taken down almost immediately. After the bugs were sorted out the client was released again on September 15. It included Punkbuster 3.0 which has many new security features for cheaters, and because of this patches stopped for Battlefield 2 . Since Battlefield 2 there has been an expansion pack called "Special Forces". It includes new weapons, vehicles, and maps for Single player and Multiplayer gameplay. cfa1e77820
